Ar. Chris Yap
Ar.IDr Chris Yap SC is the founder and Group Chairman of Spatial Factors Design Group (SFDG), which specializes in retail design, commercial office interiors, resorts, specialty food and beverage outlets, residential architecture, and master planning projects. He was among the first local architects to venture into interior design due to the economic downturn of the 1990s and the lack of architectural works. Yap pursued a mission to bring together the two professions in the building industry and create higher status and recognition for the Interior Design profession. This led to the ""dual practice"" business model, which is now common among Architectural and Interior Design practitioners today.
Ar.IDr Chris Yap SC was the Initiator, Co-Founder, President, and Past President of the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID), a national level body for Interior Designers and Architects. He is also the Founding President and Board Member of the registered Asia - Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA), a regional Interior Design grouping for national level bodies throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He currently serves as the Chancellor of the APSDA College of Fellows Committee and holds multiple Fellow Membership statuses in MIID, APSDA, and PAM.
He is also a Board Member of Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (Board of Architects Malaysia) for five terms since 2015, and has co-authored the Green Building Index ID Rating Tools, LAM's Interior Design Accreditation Manual for Institutions of Higher Learning, and the MIID – PAM Interior Design Works Contract 2023.

Dato' Seri TPr Dr. Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif
Dato’ Seri TPr Maimunah Mohd Sharif is the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia’s Special Envoy for Sustainable Urbanisation. Appointed in 2024 as the city’s first woman mayor, she leads efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 through her CATEE policy framework—ensuring City Hall is Competent, Accountable, Transparent, Efficient, and Effective.
Previously, she served as Executive Director of UN-Habitat (2018–2024), where she championed global urban sustainability, launched the City Investment Facility, and convened key ministerial meetings on climate and urbanisation at COP27–29. Earlier in her career, she was the first woman Mayor of Penang Island and led planning efforts in the Bayan Lepas Free Trade Zone.
She is a Fellow of the King’s Foundation, Honorary Member of the Royal Town Planners’ Institute (UK), and juror for the Lee Kuan Yew World Cities Prize, among others.

Ar. Adrianta Aziz
Ar. Adrianta Aziz is a prominent Malaysian architect and educator, currently serving as the President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) for the 2024–2026 term. He is a Partner at AR RAD Architects and ARN Consulting & Training — Malaysia’s pioneering architectural training company.
He graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1997 and completed his postgraduate studies in Architecture and Urban Design at Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom, in 1999. Upon returning to Malaysia in 2000, Ar. Adrianta embarked on a wide-ranging architectural career, involved in diverse projects, and is presently engaged in place-making initiatives with various local authorities across the country.
A Certified Trainer, Ar. Adrianta has been instrumental in developing learning platforms such as BeAr, LAP, ReLAP, and PPW. Through these, he has played a significant role in mentoring and guiding over 800 young architects toward professional registration over the past 15 years. His efforts have greatly contributed to shaping the future of architectural professionalism in Malaysia.
He previously served as PAM Education Committee Chairman (2021–2023) and was the Immediate Past Chairman of the ARCASIA Committee on Architectural Education (ACAE), continuing to influence architectural education and discourse at regional and international levels.
An active public speaker, Ar. Adrianta regularly presents at conferences, universities, and public forums in Malaysia and internationally — including India, Japan, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the USA, Russia, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Brunei, under the platforms of PAM and ARCASIA.

Ar. Azim A. Ar. Dr. Tan Loke Mun
Dr Tan Loke Mun’s architecture is Green and Tropical.
Dr Tan is a prominent award winning Architect and is well regarded as a visionary and a bit of a maverick. He is Adjunct Professor of Architecture, Universiti Malaya.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Dr Tan’s works are widely published and his practice is amongst the most awarded in the region. He is the recipient of the prestigious Kington Loo Gold Medal and the Professional Excellence Award 2024. Other significant architectural awards include the ASEAN Energy Award, Futurarc Green Leadership Award and numerous PAM and REKA Awards.
He has managed to juggle a prolific career as an architect, interior designer and master planner whilst at the same time contributing extensively to the profession.
He was the President of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) 2005-07, Team Leader responsible for setting up the Green Building Index (GBI) rating tool for Malaysia in 2009, a long-standing member of the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) from 2003.
He has successfully interpreted and translated tropical regional metaphors into his architecture and masterplans. The multi-award winning GBI Platinum rated S11 House is one of his biggest ideological successes.

Takbir Fatima is the Director of DesignAware, an experimental architecture studio based in Hyderabad and Dubai. She founded the Fractals Workshop and BuildAware, initiatives exploring generative design and fabrication. Abdul Shakir Abu Samah
Abdul Shakir, also known as 'Grasshopper,' is an interdisciplinary multimedia digital artist. As one of the co-founders of Filamen, a new media art collective, Shakir focuses on creating awe-inspiring projection mapping, light installation, and interactive installation projects.
Drawing on his vast experience in both post-production and production agencies, Shakir has worked on a wide range of design and art projects, including graphic design, motion graphics, projection mapping, and interactive installation. Assoc. Prof. Elena Denisenko V
Elena Denisenko is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts, Kazan Federal University, Russia. With a PhD in Architecture, her expertise lies in spatial design, bioarchitecture, and cultural heritage preservation. She leads the Conceptual Design Laboratory and has extensive experience in higher education, international collaboration, and architectural research. Sze-ee Lee embarked on her academic career in 2018 as a senior lecturer at the School of Architecture, Building, and Design (SABD), Taylor's University in Malaysia. Mohamadreza Ghodousi
Mohamadreza Ghodousi (born in 16 September 1976) is an Iranian architect and the founder of ZAV Architects in 2006. He was well-known in Iran with Barbod Fruit House (2008, also featured in the New York Times at the time) and Pedari Hotel (2011) as a young architect with peculiar projects, and as a contributor to the Iranian architectural magazine Memar. In the following years, he became prominent in the alternative architectural scene of Iran after completing Habitat for Orphan Girls (2014), Farsh Film Studio (2017) and Rong Cultural Center (2017). In these years ZAV did various projects all over Iran, focusing on creating shifts in its architecture by exploring social and economic resources in small communities and subculture circles. Having previously won several international awards, ZAV became more internationally acclaimed with Majara Residence in 2020 and is on the path of operating globally. Mohamadreza Ghodousi has also been always involved in pedagogical activities besides his practices during these years.

Chris Wong
Chris Wong received his architectural education at the University of Houston and the University of Cambridge. His professional experience includes working for Skidmore Owens and Merill in Houston in 1984-5 and Eric Parry Architects in London up till 1991 when he obtained his registration with the Architects Registration Board, UK. He founded C’arch architecture + design in 1992. Informed by Chris’s overseas experiences, the practice is structured with a large core of architects; complimented by a smaller support team to ensure that the design quality is maintained. His interest in photography, history, travel and diving compliments the exploration in his work and research.

Carlo Ratti
An architect and engineer by training, Carlo Ratti works on the future of cities and the built environment. He is a Professor of the Practice of Urban Technologies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, where he directs the Senseable City Lab, and is a Full Professor in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. He is a founding partner of the international architecture and innovation office CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and has established several tech start-ups in the United States and Europe. Ratti graduated from the Politecnico di Torino and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris and later carried out his MPhil and Ph.D. work at the University of Cambridge - completing his Ph.D. thesis as a Fulbright Scholar at MIT. In December 2023, he was named as Curator of the Venice Biennale Architettura 2025. One of the top ten most-cited scholars in urban planning, Ratti has co-authored over 750 academic publications.
Ratti’s work has been exhibited worldwide at venues including New York City's MoMA, the Venice Biennale, the Science Museum in London, Expo 2015 Milan, and Expo 2020 Dubai. His focus on many scales of innovation– from products to buildings to cities – has led CRA to become the only design firm in the world to feature on TIME’s “Best Inventions of the Year” list three different times (2007, 2014, 2019). He has appeared as one of “50 people who will change the world” according to Wired. Fast Company hailed him as one of the “Most Influential Designers in America,” and Blueprint Magazine listed him as one of its “People Who Will Change the World of Design.” Bloomberg dubbed him the “Sensory City Philosopher.”

Milinda Pathiraja
Milinda Pathiraja is a Co-Founder of Robust Architecture Workshop (RAW), based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is also an Honorary Senior Fellow at the Faculty of Architecture, Building & Planning at the University of Melbourne, a Visiting Professor at the FAR lab of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
For his PhD research at the University of Melbourne, Milinda received the RIBA President’s Award, the CIOB Australasia Excellent Building Postgraduate (Research) Award in 2011, and the University of Melbourne Chancellor’s Prize for Excellence in 2012. In 2016, Milinda was selected as one of 88 world architects showcased in the international section of the 15th Architecture Biennale, held in Venice, Italy. He was also nominated for the Swiss Architectural Award in 2020 and 2024.
His architecture firm, RAW, won the Global LafargeHolcim Awards Silver Prize in 2015, the regional Bronze Prize for Asia Pacific in 2014, and the LafargeHolcim Building Better Recognition Award in 2017. RAW also received the Terra Award for Earthen Constructions in 2016 and the International Chapter Award for Residential Architecture from the Australian Institute of Architects in 2018.
RAW’s work has been published internationally, including in Casabella (Italy), The Architectural Review (UK), A+U (Japan), AA (Australia), L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui (France), World Architecture (China), and FuturArc (Singapore).

Ma Yansong
Beijing-born architect Ma Yansong is recognized as an important voice in the new generation of architects. He is the first Chinese architect to win an overseas landmark-building project. Ma is committed to developing futuristic, organic, and technologically-advanced designs that embody a contemporary interpretation of the Eastern affinity for nature. With a vision for the city of the future based in the spiritual and emotional needs of residents, he endeavors to create a balance between humanity, the city, and the environment.
Founded MAD Architects in 2004, Ma leads design across various scales, including urban planning, urban complexes, municipal buildings, museums, theaters, concert halls, and housing, as well as art and design.
In 2006, Ma was awarded the “Young Architects Award” by the Architectural League of New York. Fast Company respectively named him one of the “10 Most Creative People in Architecture in 2009”. In 2010 he became the first architect from China to receive a RIBA international fellowship. In 2014 he was awarded “Young Global Leaders (YGL)” by World Economic Forum. In 2015, he was listed as one of the “100 Most Creative People in Business” by Surface, and “30 Most Influential Chinese Architects” by Forbes. In 2016, he was honored as “Certificate of Recognition” by City od Los Angeles. From 2019 to 2021, he was awarded as “China’s Most Influential Designer” for three years by Architectural Digest. In 2022, MAD Architects was recognized as “Best Cultural Firm” by Fast Company, and became the first architectural firm to win this award in China.
Ma holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Yale University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Ma has taught in Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Tsinghua University and University of Southern California. And he is teaching at Yale University now.

Kichul Lee
Architect Lee Kichul earned his Master of Architecture from the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley. He gained practical experience at Frederic Schwartz Architects in New York and Space Group in Korea, and in 2012, founded his own studio, Architect-K, which he continues to lead today. His work spans a wide range of typologies—from residential to public architecture, commercial spaces, and high-end hospitality.
Starting with the AAWH (Songdo Residence), he has carried out several housing projects; experimental café architecture such as Two Triangle (Greetvi Seo-Saeng Branch) and Mijiui (Unknown); civic architecture including the Busan Mixed Innovation Center (BMIC) and Miryang Social Communication Center; and luxury accommodations such as the Capella Yangyang Hotel & Resort.
His work consistently explores how contemporary lifestyles and architecture intersect and resonate. His architectural language takes root in a layered landscape where locality and globality, tradition and modernity, heterogeneity and hybridity intertwine. At these boundaries—where differing contexts overlap and collide—new spatial sensibilities begin to emerge. His architecture resists fixed form, instead unfolding as an open possibility shaped by its surroundings. Alan Cheung
Alan is a registered architect in Hong Kong with over 15 years of experience. He holds degrees in Architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master’s in Urban Analytics from the University of Hong Kong. After working with Rafael Viñoly Architects, Alan co-founded onebite in 2015, focusing on human-centric design, public space enhancement, and urban innovation using data analytics. His award-winning projects include Kai Yip Estate Playground and GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Stores. Richard Wood
Richard Wood is the Managing Director Asia at Snøhetta with a focus on developing the firm's projects and values throughout the Asia region.
Richard has lived and worked in the region since 2012, designing and leading large public and institutional buildings, and urban planning projects throughout. His selected projects at Snøhetta include Tokyo Shibuya Upper West Project, NOT A Hotel Rusutsu in Japan, Kota Kinabalu Masterplan in Malaysia, and among others.
Besides his design practice, Richard is also actively involved in architectural and design education, such as teaching at Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, and keynote presentations at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, FIND Singapore 2024, Art Basel Hong Kong 2024 and among others.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Alice Sabrina Ismail
Alice Sabrina Ismail is an Associate Professor with over a decade of experience in architecture, focusing on ethnic heritage, cultural identity, Islamic architecture, and sustainability. She served as Director of UTM Architecture School (2019–2023) and is currently an Adjunct Professor at UNIMAS and a member of the Architecture Program Accreditation Panel (2022–2027).
Born in Canada and raised in Kuala Lumpur, she earned her degrees from UTM and completed her PhD at QUT, Australia. As Founding Director of CASEH, she leads local and international efforts in heritage conservation, education reform, and community-based sustainable development. She is also the key researcher in leading the Future Direction of Malaysia Architecture Education (2020-2030) HPSN 2030 with the Ministry of Malaysia Higher Education (MOHE), Board of Malaysia Architects (LAM), MAPSM (Council of Malaysian Architecture Education) and COHAS (Council Heads of Architecture Schools).
She has won local and national awards in the architectural field and is actively involved in many research projects and collaborations with prominent local agencies on heritage conservation such as the national museum, including prominent international architecture schools worldwide, like Chezklovakia, Japan, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Vienna, US, China and the UK, as well as the B40 community, to encourage a sustainable living environment in society

Nazmi Anuar
Nazmi Anuar is a partner at the research practice E9A and teaches at the School of Architecture, Building and Design, Taylor’s University. His research interest is in the relationship between architectural form and the city.
Nazmi Anuar holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Postgraduate Masters in Architecture and Urban Design from The Berlage, TU Delft. Lim In Chong (Inch) is a renowned Malaysian landscape designer known for his deep knowledge of tropical plants and innovative, multi-layered designs. Founder of Inchscape Sdn. Abd Muluk Bin Abd Manan is a seasoned architect with a wealth of experience and a solid educational background. He

Kamelia Jambari
Kamelia Jambari obtained her Part 1 in architecture from The Institute Of Technology, Kyoto, Japan, and Part 2 in architecture from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She did her internship at Ken Nagao & Associates in Kobe, Japan in 2007. She then worked as a graduate architect with Juteras Design Workshop, a design and build company from 2011 to 2018. Later she pursued her career as a senior architect at IBUKU, a leading design and build bamboo company in Bali, Indonesia from 2018 to 2020.

Jun Ong
Jun Ong is a Kuala Lumpur-based light artist. His works manipulate artificial light to affect the way we experience the built form. Using light and innovative materiality, his studio explores sensorial deprivation and performative illumination to build a connection between psychology, technology and our humanistic perception of the universe at large.
He has collaborated with individuals from various fields such as interactive programmers, architects, quantum physicists and sound artists. He has participated in light festivals and public art commissions in Amsterdam, Oregon, Taipei, Shenzhen, Singapore and Bangkok. His work “STAR” installation in Penang was nominated for World’s Best in Spatial Art at the Media Architecture Biennale (2016).
